Professor Eric Rozner of Binghamton University was awarded the Paul Walden Medal at the symposium’s opening for his impact on nucleic acid chemistry and his role in advancing science in Latvia. The medal, a traditional honor bestowed by the symposium’s organizers, was presented by Professor Māris Turks, Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology at Riga Technical University.
